Cost Estimator

We’re looking to appointment a cost estimator – an organized and diligent professional that will drive quality across their segment of the company.

Here’s what our cost estimator will be doing:

In this role, you will assist the team on mid to large scale projects in collaboration with our subcontractors and our clients (sectors: office, Retail and Hospitality). This position is multifaceted; the successful candidate will work with the pre-construction director and project management teams on pre-conception of our projects before they go live.

Key activities identified below but not limited to:

• Identify and quantify the costs and activities required for all works included in the specifications and bills of quantities (considering production time, materials and labour)
• Analyse the legal, technical and financial risks of a project
• Research and propose technical and economic solutions
• Select companies and propose partnerships, managing all communications and relations with technical and purchasing departments, both internal and external
• Evaluate the profitability and viability of projects, making recommendations to the delivery team
• Participate in the preliminary financial phase of projects
• Consult with suppliers: organise and analyse offers
• Manage preliminary and resource costs – while also having good knowledge of the project contractual terms – is key, as is the capability and confidence to predict and identify future risks or opportunities and associated costs/revenues,
• Take ownership of maintaining our profitability by allocating budgets for each element of a construction project, while also supervising any changes to the financial aspects of ongoing deliveries
• Participate in monthly reporting on the project financial position
• Assist in order management with subcontractors.

What we’re looking for from our cost estimator :

• Architect, Engineer or Quantity Surveyor, or studies in business school, specialising in the construction sector
• At least 5 years’ experience as a cost estimator in the construction sector
• Proficient computer skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £50,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
