Cost Estimator For Automation/ Manufacturing

Innostrat Solutions Inc. is looking for a competent, creative, dedicated and reliable individual to join our growing organization as a Cost Estimator/ at our Waterloo location. The ideal candidate shall have experience in process and product cost estimation, supply chain management, the ability to learn office and factory floor business processes quickly and pay attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.

Since 1975 Innostrat Solutions is designing and manufacturing automated and robotics production assembly lines, using IIoT, AI and sensing technologies along with Inspection systems. Innostrat is ISO 9001:2015 registered and has CAD/CAM, CNC, CMM, additive manufacturing and other machining capabilities. Our test fixtures in metal, and composite material are well known to industrial clients in Canada, the USA, Mexico, Aisa and Europe. The organization is growing at a fast pace.

Responsibilities

  • Review, understand, and summarize customer request for quotes (RFQs).
  • Work with outside supplier base to obtain quotes/pricing on products to assure accuracy.
  • Prepare formal quotes and proposals for submission to sales and customers and work with them as needed.
  • Support Innostrat’s President in coordinating and completing projects in entire organization.
  • Work with internal departments to establish cost models based on actual data such as material costs, purchase costs and labour hours.
  • Ensure the proper tracking, analysis and forecasting of project costs.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified and reliable supply chain.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree/diploma in technical trades, or business management.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of estimation, project management processes, workflows, and terminology.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and other aspects that can impact a project.
  • Strong documentation practices: organized, consistent record keeping and traceable reporting.
  • Excellent initiative and ability to identify and mitigate risk and remove impediments.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines and schedules.
  • Ability to work in fast paced / team environment while interacting positively with customers, colleagues and management.
  • Proficient in bookkeeping software, Microsoft Excel or similar.
  • Knowledge of gauges & fixtures, automation is an asset.
