This role is based in Hobart. RA Tas operates from multiple locations across the Greater Hobart region, and the successful applicant may be required to perform their duties from any of these locations in accordance with operational requirements.

We are looking for a Counsellor/Case Manager (Children) to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by family violence. This role is focused on delivering trauma-informed, age-appropriate counselling services to individuals and families, with children’s needs and safety at the centre of all work.

As a Counsellor/Case Manager (Children) in the Acorn program, you will provide therapeutic interventions and assessments, contribute to internal education on best practices, and work collaboratively with external partners. You will play a vital role in supporting the safety, recovery, and resilience of children and families.

Do you fit the bill

• A degree in Social Work, Psychology or an equivalent qualification relevant to therapeutic counselling.
• Experience providing a broad range of counselling services in individual or family contexts.
• A strong understanding of family dynamics, grief and loss, and the psychological development of relationships.
• The ability to engage effectively with diverse clients across various backgrounds and support needs.
• Knowledge of mandatory reporting, suicide intervention, and working with people affected by family violence.
