Country Impact Manager

The position

Lead WVA’s relationship with a WV National Office/s, including overseeing the management of the full portfolio of projects within that office that are funded through WVA.

You will build collaborative relationships across WVA and engage and support a number of internal and external stakeholders to support WVA’s evolution as an Impact Business.

This is a Maximum Term Contract role (Parental Leave) for 8 months.

Your responsibilities:

  • Strategic engagement with WV National Offices and implementation partners, including design, evaluation & stand-up of grant projects and Area Programs, as appropriate
  • Engage and influence the relevant Country Strategy Implementation Plan (CSIP) development and associated processes to support National Office/s
  • Ensure Portfolio is fully compliant and managed to the highest quality, establishing a platform for enhanced engagement with institutional donors, Partner agencies, Corporates, individual supporters and Major Donors
  • Support WVA acquisition of institutional and non-institutional grants as a key contributor
  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders including Field Impact, Marketing, Private Funding and Retail to contribute to delivery of Enterprise Business Plan, to coordinate engagement with National Offices and be called on for technical support
  • Contribution to the development and refinement of key grant and project management processes, tools and resources, including, as appropriate, for the ANCP portfolio
  • Support National Offices to respond to Category I and II humanitarian emergencies; work in collaboration with the Humanitarian team to assist WVA’s response to Cat III emergencies in portfolio country; and work with the NO to track its progress implementing (or developing) the National Preparedness Plan
  • Ensure trusted relationships are held with relevant field partners, regional offices and technical support teams across the Partnership
  • Regular monitoring of field programmatic and financial reporting, with accountability for following up with National Offices to address issues and build capacity as required
  • Identify report content and relevant project or country information for population in the digital Impact Hub, under the guidance and governance of the Impact Hub and Strategy Team
  • Provide raw content, as per approved templates, to the Impact Hub and Strategy Team for evidence translation
  • Deliver growth within the portfolio by working with WVA’s Grant Acquisition team and technical advisors to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities within the portfolio

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who has excellent project management, analytical and Influencing skills and is self driven, a team player and a quick learner.

You will have:

  • Significant complex grant management experience, ideally with a grant portfolio
  • Program management experience, including the development and communication of results
  • Training, resource development and capacity building skills
  • Understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations.
  • Knowledge of DFAT and the requirements of the ANCP Program is helpful
  • Knowledge of humanitarian principles, disaster management cycle and the project cycle
  • Understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms and the international humanitarian system and organisations including donors
  • Understanding emerging models of partnering between NGOs and government/ international organisations
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: these may include International Relations/International Development, Humanitarian Assistance, legal, or a relevant technical field
