We are seeking an experienced, skilled and reliable Farm Crop Operator for a year-round position that includes both cropping season and winter feedlot responsibilities.
What We Are Looking For:
* REQUIRED: 3–5 years of hands-on crop farming or feedlot experience
- Knowledge of modern farm equipment and seasonal operations
- Ability to work year-round in varied weather conditions
- Class 1 license is a strong asset
Role and Responsibilities
Spring–Fall Season (Crop Focus): Land Prep & Planting
- Prepare fields using conventional or no-till methods
- Apply fertilizers and soil amendments based on test results
- Operate planters and ensure accurate seeding
Irrigation & Water Management
- Operate and maintain pivot, drip, or other irrigation systems
- Monitor weather and soil conditions for efficient water use
Harvesting, Equipment, Operation & Maintenance
- Operate a broad range of modern farming equipment, including tractors, sprayers, and other machinery as needed
- Combine operation/Bean Combine operation is an asset
- Monitor crop maturity and manage timely harvesting
- Assist with post-harvest handling and storage
- Conduct basic maintenance and report major repairs
Record Keeping & Compliance
- Track field work, input, and harvest data
- Maintain chemical logs and ensure regulatory compliance
General Farm Maintenance
- Maintain clean, functional workspaces
- Repair fences and equipment, assist with off-season prep
Winter Season (Feedlot & Yard Work):
- Bedding cattle and assisting with cattle care
- Hauling manure and general manure management
- Assisting in the shop with maintenance and fabrication
- Snow removal and other general winter work as needed
