The Office of Strategic Operations provides coordinated project management across multiple lines of service within DCAS. The team works with agency senior executives on high-priority projects to ensure DCAS achieves and sustains its mission through improvements in customer experience and service delivery. The team promotes data-driven and user-oriented approaches to improve agency operations, ensure compliance and recommend sustainable policies.
The selected candidate will be tasked to support the following:
- Develop internal capacity templates for the Strategic Operations team.
- Assist in developing clear and effective presentation and communication materials to share with stakeholders, including summary decks, meeting templates, interview notes and transcriptions, and other deliverables.
- Conduct best practice research related to on-going and potential projects in the various agency priority areas.
- Use of strong communications skills towards effectively assisting the team with client interactions.
- Participate in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, with guidance towards creating summary notes, data summaries and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited CUNY college in a major related to the work in which the fellow will be trained, and perform in the particular position.
Preferred Skills
- Project management focus and interest. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Genuine interest in government operations and find problem-solving motivating towards design and civic innovations. - Professional support of verbal and written communications with clients at all levels of the agency, from senior leaders to front-line employees. - Capability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously. - Experience with excel in organizing data, or willingness to learn.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
