Custodian Position

Kawartha Montessori School (KMS) is the only CCMA accredited Montessori school within the beautiful Kawartha area and we have been in operation for 41 years. Your Role at KMS:

We wish to recruit a part-time permanent custodian to care for our beautiful school, beginning January 6, 2025 (approximately 25 hours per week). Duties will take place after school hours (with some flexibility), and include but are not limited to the following tasks:

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing various areas of the school, including our 6 classrooms, washrooms, office, and common areas
• Replenish supplies (soap, paper towel, etc.) in all areas
• Care for the outdoor environment, including cutting the grass, and snow removal on walkways (equipment provided)
• Regular maintenance of the indoor and outdoor facility as required
• Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies. Order and pick up supplies when needed.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks
• Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and tidiness in all areas
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills to manage cleaning supplies and product inventory
• Good communication skills to interact with staff, students, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
• Knowledge of different cleaning agents, chemicals, and their appropriate use
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and maintenance in a school environment
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and hazard-free environment
• Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks, such as fixing minor plumbing issues, repairing furniture, changing light bulbs, etc.
• A criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening prior to start date

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
