Position Overview
As the Custodian Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of our luxury fitness and wellness club. You will lead a team of custodians, ensuring that all areas of the gym are maintained to the highest standards. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to providing a top-tier experience for our members.
You enjoy supporting and mentoring new hires as you assist with the on-boarding and training. You support the Building Operations Manager with scheduling, ordering and inventory, safety and compliance, quality control and administrative duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to your role as an Custodian the duties and responsibilities of the Custodian Team Lead include:
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of custodians. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and guidance to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Oversee and participate in the cleaning of all gym areas, including fitness rooms, locker rooms, restrooms, pools, and common areas. Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Order and restock as necessary, and ensure proper storage and usage of all materials.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and address any maintenance or repair needs. Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain a pristine environment.
- Member Relations: Address any member concerns or complaints related to cleanliness and resolve them promptly. Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive member experience.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all cleaning procedures comply with health and safety regulations. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all relevant safety standards and protocols.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain records related to cleaning schedules, supply inventory, and team performance. Prepare and submit reports as required.
- All other duties assigned by your direct report
To land this role you need to have;
- At least one year experience professionally cleaning
- Certifications or workshops relevant to cleaning (WHMIS), maintenance is a definite asset.
- 1+ year’s experience working in supervisory role
- All team members must have current CPR/First Aid certification (required to have a minimum of Emergency First Aid and CPR certification) required prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment. CPR is to be renewed annually.
- All team members must provide a recent Criminal Background Check prior to commencement of training and/or work.
