Production Crew Member

Location: Atkin Molding Company

Reports To: Production Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Production Crew Member is responsible for the precision execution of a specific workstation within our new assembly line format. Rather than managing a start-to-finish build, you will master a dedicated stage of the production process—such as component assembly, sanding, or finishing—to ensure a seamless flow of high-quality architectural moldings and custom doors. This role requires a focus on repetitive precision, speed, and tight coordination with team members up and down the line.

Key Responsibilities

Stationary Production & Flow

● Station Mastery: Execute specific assembly or finishing tasks at a dedicated workstation according to standardized operating procedures.

● Quality Consistency: Inspect all materials entering your station for defects and ensure your output meets the company’s high-quality standards before passing it to the next station.

● Throughput Efficiency: Maintain the pace of the assembly line to meet daily production goals and prevent bottlenecks.

● Daily Coordination: Participate in morning meetings to align on workstation assignments and daily volume targets.

Machine & Facility Maintenance

● Tool Stewardship: Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of the specific tools and machinery assigned to your workstation.

● Workplace Organization: Keep your immediate station and the broader shop floor clean and free of debris to ensure safety and efficiency.

● Logistics Support: Operate forklifts as needed to move materials to and from assembly line staging areas.

Material Handling

● Inventory Receipt: Assist in unloading vendor trucks and verifying that material counts match delivery tickets.

● Documentation: Ensure all signed tickets are promptly delivered to the office manager for accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

● Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly line environment is preferred.

● Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.

● A strong eye for detail and the ability to follow exact specifications repeatedly.

● Excellent teamwork skills to communicate effectively with the workers at preceding and following stations.

● Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 100 lbs.

Work Environment

This role is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing shop and requires regular physical activity, including lifting, operating forklifts, and remaining stationary at a workstation for extended periods. The work environment involves exposure to noise, dust, and other typical shop conditions.
