Our store hours of operation are Monday to Friday 6:00AM-6:00PM, Saturday 6:00AM-3:00PM

ROLE

Reporting to the Team Lead, the Customer Service Associate plays an integral by providing customers with fast, friendly, and courteous customer service. In this capacity, the Customer Service Associate liaises with the Team Lead and Retail Manager on all escalation matters deriving from a purchase of sale. The Customer Service Associate monitors and maintains checkout area and/or processes return transactions, as assigned. Proactively seeks product/project knowledge to provide customers with information and identify selling opportunities. Follows all policies and procedures to ensure that shrink is minimized. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

ENSURES CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

  • Follow the standard checkout process to ensure fast checkout.
  • Responsible for ensuring that respective till counts balance at the beginning and end of shift and ensures Till Log’s are completed daily.
  • Ensures registers are not left unattended without logging off the register, turning off the register light and securing the register lane.
  • Advocates all non-conformities and ensures that all customer escalation matters are brought to the attention of the Team Lead and/ or the Manager on Duty.
  • Greets customers, conducts cash, debit, or credit transactions with customers and provides a receipt.
  • Continuously monitors cleanliness of store front by either dusting shelves, dusting products, sweeping front entrance, replenish store flyers, organize overflow hangers, and cleaning entrance windows.
  • Intermittently gathers shopping carts and dollies from the parking lot cart shelter.
  • Assess the customer’s need for loading assistance, taking into consideration the merchandise being purchased as well as other environmental factors.
  • Assists on a needed basis the housekeeping and cleanliness of the parking lot.
  • Assembles clothing orders by unpacking, security tagging, folding, as well as placing out on necessary shelving.
  • Follow the standard checkout process to ensure accuracy and to prevent shrink
  • Follow SOP regarding cash handling procedures.
  • Monitors all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary.
  • Understands and complies with Sensormatic requirements and responds immediately to non-conformity matters.
  • Assists with the return of non-purchased inventory to stock, either to showroom and/or contractors area.
  • Assists customers with accessing showroom facilities only when timing in necessary and there is ample coverage at the cash station.
  • Completes any designated tasks/duties administered by management or Team Lead.
  • Ensures designated work area is tidy before leaving at the end of the day, to include but not limited to tidying shelves, wiping down ledges and computers, removes any rubbish and replenishes both small and large bags.
  • Registers purchased STIHL products on the STIHL warranty website on date of purchase.
  • Completes Honda Registration Forms with customer at time of purchase for warranty registration.
  • Contribute to the overall prevention of store theft

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface
  • The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy
  • Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes
  • Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions
  • May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges
  • Passing forklifts emit gas fumes
  • Tools, supplies and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials
  • May have to occasionally work outdoors where temperatures and climate can fluctuate
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum two(2) year experience in a retail environment, construction industry experience is an asset.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
