Introduction:
About the role:
The Customer Service Officer plays an integral role in providing support to critical business functions across the organisation. The position is a front of house customer service role responsible for providing high level customer service to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, so being the friendly face of CRCS is critical. The incumbent will support the administrative functions of the organisation to enable the smooth day to day running of the programs and services within the organisation.
This is a full time ongoing position based at various locations to support the organisation’s needs, including CRCS head office in Bruce, Belconnen Community Centre, Chandler Street, and other sites based in ACT region.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
Undertaking reception and other administrative duties across our various locations, including being responsible for opening and closing the Belconnen Community Centre.
Providing advice and information about CRCS services and access requirements for programs
Managing customer service enquiries, greeting and supporting participants with their enquiries. It is critical that the successful applicant have demonstrated experience in managing challenging and at times confronting situations with members of the community
Completing all administrative requirements as directed by the Executive Assistant
Data collection, entry and record keeping as well as reporting as required
Taking payments, managing program software, record keeping and monitoring designated shared mailboxes for incoming e-mails
Coordinating stationery orders and monitor stock
Undertaking archiving activities as directed
Assisting when required with basic facilities tasks such as general building upkeep, reporting maintenance issues, assisting with hire and venue enquiries, meeting room bookings.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
Certificate III in administration or working towards a qualification or extensive work experience
Personal commitment to the values of care, respect, honesty, optimism and resilience
Demonstrated respect for and competence to meet the individual cultural, spiritual and diversity needs and requirements of people from vulnerable backgrounds
Welcoming and friendly phone manners and ability to provide a calm and solutions focused approach under pressure
Proven ability to work as a team member, ask questions and take a proactive approach to learning
Ability to work with flexibility, to use initiative and to provide accurate advice and support to participants to access the services within CRCS in the way that each participant chooses
Intermediate skillset with Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel)
Ability to quickly learn and use a variety program software
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and the ability to effectively manage time
Sound understanding of own responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety Act and ability to seek out and follow policies, procedures and safe work guidelines.
Desirable qualifications:
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Additional requirements for the role:
Current Driver’s Licence and access to a registered, comprehensively insured motor vehicle for work related purposes
CRCS employees must hold a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration and have this with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS
CRCS employees are required to undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may affect their eligibility to work or performing the inherent requirements of their position.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate their commitment to child safety and undergo rigorous screening processes, including Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) checks.
