The Opportunity

As a Customer Service Officer, you will deliver welcoming and professional customer service through all customer interactions in person, on the phone and online.


You will also be responsible for

  • Resolving customer queries
  • Asking direct and appropriate questions in order to assist customers
  • Provision of accurate information in a timely manner
  • Recording information in Council database software
  • Maintaining a professional image and compliance with uniform policy


This is a part time position for 12 months, working 35 hours a fortnight.


Things You’re Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)

  • Proven experience in a call centre or high-volume phone operations.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer service industry.
  • To be customer outcome focused delivering high resolution at first point.
  • Use initiative and problem-solving techniques for the best customer and business outcomes.
  • Excellent numeracy, cash handling, balancing and end of day banking experience.
  • Well-developed knowledge of the East Gippsland Shire, region and/ or services.
  • Excellent keyboard skills and experience with Microsoft software; Internet; and database products.


If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and hold a current and valid employee Working with Children Check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
