Dreamlight Studio (a dance studio on the East Hamilton Mountain) will be entering our 16th year of operation and we're looking for fun, enthusiastic dance instructors to join our studio family beginning September 15, 2025.

Position Summary:

We are a growing studio, and we're looking for two new instructors to join our team for the 2025/26 dance season who can take on their own regular weekly classes and/or substitute teach as needed.

Responsibilities Include:

• Creating lesson plans for their own dance classes, including choreography, as needed.
• Following lesson plans / direction when covering a class.
• Instructing students in an engaging, fun, and age-appropriate way.
• Selecting recital costumes for their classes.
• Communicating professionally with parents and other staff as required.
• Meeting studio deadlines (such as for recital music selection, etc.)
• Adhering to Dreamlight's philosophy of maintaining a stress-free and welcoming dance environment.

Additional Opportunities:

Selected candidates also have the potential to receive offers for the following:

• Leading dance birthday parties held at the studio.
• Extra hours for assistance with Recital operations.
• Continued renewal of contract for future dance seasons.

About Dreamlight Studio:

We're a strictly recreational dance studio, keeping the learning atmosphere more fun and relaxed. Most class sizes are between 8-10 students (max. is 12). Classes with younger students are kept between 6-8 students max. Dreamlight also offers private lessons, wedding dance instruction, birthday parties, and Christian worship dance, and we sell dancewear in our lobby store.

Interested Candidates Must:

• Be comfortable teaching both group classes and private one-on-one dance lessons.
• Have adequate previous dance experience in at least three or more of the following: Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Ballet, Tap, Partner Duets/Ballroom. Previous teaching experience not required to apply.
• Enjoy working with children of all ages.
• Have a passion for dance and a desire to see others grow in this passion as well!

This is a contract position. 2025/26 Season Rate we're offering to instructors joining our team is per class taught: $16.50 per 30 minute class taught, $18.50 per 45 minute class taught, $21.50 per 60 minute class taught, $30 per 60 minute birthday party led.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $18.50-$33.00 per hour
