SUMMARY: The Dance Trainer works in cooperation with the Cheerleading Manager to prepare dancers for game day performances and entertainment needs. This role requires attendance at all cheer rehearsals, trips, and game days ensuring the highest standards of technique, performance, and team cohesion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Choreograph routines and material as directed by the Manager, including instructing the squad at rehearsals, setting routine formations and modifying material per Managers advisement.
- Serve as a mentor and motivator, fostering a positive and inclusive training environment.
- Provide constructive feedback and evaluations to help dancers refine their skills.
- Assist with the recruitment, audition, and selection process for new team members.
- Support game day field activations and other squad related cheer/dance programs.
- Implement strength and conditioning programs to improve endurance, agility, and injury prevention.
- Teach and reinforce proper dance technique, execution, and showmanship in various styles (jazz, hip-hop, pom, etc.).
- Stay updated on industry trends and evolving dance styles to keep routines fresh and engaging.
- Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONs
- Degree in dance education or previous professional experience
- Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience required
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to training and performance enhancement
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel.
- The employee frequently is required to talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud on event days
