Introduction:
About us
We are an award winning, national $16B public offer industry fund focused on the education and community sectors. Working for NGS Super means being part of something bigger and working to make a difference to our members and their financial future.
Our people are key to our success, and as we expand, we’re committed to finding and retaining the right talent to take on the journey. As well as a flexible and fun workplace, we offer competitive benefits including additional leave entitlements, personal & professional development and health & wellbeing programs.
The Role
The Data Analyst plays a pivotal role in turning data into meaningful insights that drive marketing performance and member engagement. You’ll design and maintain automated dashboards and visualisations, while extracting, transforming and analysing data to support targeted campaigns, segmentation and performance reporting.
Working closely with the Data team, you’ll contribute to business and strategic reporting and help ensure the accuracy, integrity and accessibility of data across the Fund.
What you’ll do
- Extract and segment mailing lists to support targeted marketing initiatives and member or employer surveys.
- Automate data processes to optimise efficiencies around marketing data provision and associated reporting.
- Conduct pre-campaign analysis to identify high-potential target groups and optimise audience selection.
- Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of campaign performance dashboards and reports.
- Perform post-campaign analysis, delivering insights and recommendations that inform and enhance future marketing activities.
- Design and deliver end-to-end reporting solutions, from requirement gathering all the way to delivery and maintenance of the solution.
- Proactively identify data issues, gaps and investigate ways to mitigate them.
- Play a key role in creating and maintaining reports using SQL, PowerBi, Excel and Salesforce.
- Develop improvements in reporting, including automated visualisations, self-service report creation, report standardisation, process standardisation and version controls.
- Promote data-driven decision-making by engaging with relevant stakeholders to provide support and educational sessions.
We are looking for someone who brings fresh experience and thinking to the superannuation industry to help drive our growth journey. You will bring the following key skills:
- 5+ years of practical experience in data analytics.
- Strong SQL skills – able to write complex queries and optimize performance.
- Advanced proficiency in Python for scripting and data manipulation.
- Prior experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools, such as Power BI and/or Tableau, including dashboard creation and data visualisation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
- Ability to communicate complex analyses in a clear and concise manner, delivering insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ability to understand, simplify and challenge data or reporting requirements, communicating independently to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application in marketing analytics (e.g. segmentation, predictive modelling).
- Experience using Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Looker and BigQuery to support campaign targeting and performance analysis.
- Experience of building and deploying AI agents.
- Knowledge or experience in the superannuation industry or broader financial services sector.
We are a super fund that has an exceptional work culture, provides a diverse offering in developing our people and you can be a part of it while earning an attractive remuneration package!
Please note that to be eligible for this role, you are required to have permanent Australian working rights and residency.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a workplace that values diversity, equity, and respect for all individuals.
