Overview
The Data Analyst is a valuable member of the Rainmaker Data Team, directly contributing to the company in the provision of data, insights, and market intelligence to the financial services industry in Australia.
This position provides the opportunity to grow your data skills and experience on the financial services industry and products. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in data collection, surveys, data entry, data auditing, data analysis and internet research, and insights.
Working within a long-established Data Team where members are passionate about data, financial services and researching. Each team member will have access to professional learning material, professional software, industry events and media titles to support their growth and expand their knowledge of the financial services industry in Australia.
Responsibilities
They include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with a quarterly Survey to Fund Managers on the Australian Market.
- Assisting with data collection, analysis and reporting on Annuities, Insurance and Financial Advisers.
- Maintaining relationships with data suppliers and liaising with them to ensure good flow of data.
- Researching websites, annual reports, and other sources for information.
- Reading key media titles on the Australian financial services market.
- Maintaining a database.
- Communication of tasks, progress, successes, and deadlines.
- Participating in an ongoing professional learning and development program in financial services.
Qualifications
- University qualified in a relevant field, including, but not limited to Finance, Business, Marketing, Economics or Commerce.
- Passionate about Data and financial services, funds management or insurance.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience with data, conducting surveys or research is an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong MS Excel, communication and internet research skills
- Genuine interest in learning about the financial services industry.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, well organised and pro-active.
