Data Center IT Project Delivery Expert
About the Role
We are hiring an Overseas IT Project Delivery Expert for data center operations. This role owns end-to-end on-site project management for module builds, network builds, decommissioning, and ad-hoc cabling projects, driving on-time, high-quality delivery across all data center sites within an assigned territory. The role works closely with the TPM team and local on-site operations, bridging ground-level project execution with the delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct early-stage project site surveys and coordinate logistics for equipment and material arrivals.
2. Own end-to-end on-site project management for module builds, network builds, decommissioning, and ad-hoc cabling projects.
3. Manage on-site cabling and network integration to ensure overall delivery timeliness and quality.
4. Track and report on civil works and infrastructure construction progress at IDC sites, per requirements from the TPM team.
5. Coordinate and communicate with the TPM team and local on-site operations throughout the project lifecycle to ensure on-time delivery.
6. Serve as an on-site construction liaison for a portion of each project's duration, as required.
Requirements
1. 3+ years of experience in data center construction or on-site O&M; candidates with Alibaba data center experience preferred.
2. IT background, with familiarity in network architecture, servers, and fiber optics preferred.
3. Project management experience; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
4. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with fluency in English and Chinese for coordinating with the TPM team, local operations, and other stakeholders; proficiency in the local language is a plus.
5. This role covers a single assigned territory, spanning all data center sites within that region; willing to commute between sites as needed, a local driver's license is a plus.
6. Open to a 3–6 month on-the-job training period after joining, after which the role will independently support client’s TPM team in delivering all projects within the assigned territory.
What We Value
- Strong safety awareness, compliance mindset, and respect for procedures.
- Hands-on attitude and willingness to work in an on-site technical environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, ownership, and attention to detail.
- Clear communication and timely escalation when issues or risks appear.
- Teamwork across IT operations, facility, security, asset management, vendors, and customer-side teams.
- A learning mindset. Candidates do not need to know everything from day one, but they must be able to follow SOPs carefully and grow with the project.
What We Provide
- A role in international data center operations, with exposure to stable, process-driven IDC delivery in Europe.
- Role-specific onboarding, site induction, SOP training, and support from experienced technical and project teams.
- Necessary work equipment, tools, PPE, and site access support according to project and site requirements.
