You will be an integral part of a dynamic team within the Merchandising Solutions department, a group of over 20 data and AI enthusiasts driving the merchandising agenda at BESTSELLER. You will join a product team of ten highly skilled professionals, all committed to harnessing the potential of data to enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and drive revenue growth.

YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure. Working closely with merchandisers, data scientists, engineers, and application developers, you will ensure that our data platform is efficient, reliable, and ready to support cutting-edge AI initiatives, while taking ownership of data engineering best practices and helping shape a future-ready foundation that supports next-generation AI and analytics solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as dbt and Airflow

• Managing data in Snowflake and other modern data platforms

• Ensuring data integrity, performance, and security across streaming, batch, and real-time pipelines

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate, transform, and automate data processes

• Utilizing SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.

• Setting up and maintaining Git-based CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery of high-quality data products

YOUR PROFILE
You are a structured, curious, and proactive Data Engineer who takes pride in designing efficient systems. You enjoy exploring various technological options to find the optimal solutions and are comfortable communicating your findings with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We envision that you bring:

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with relevant experience in data engineering or a strong interest in building data platforms

• Proficiency in cloud environments (Azure or AWS), data integration tools, and modern data warehousing or lakehouse architectures

• Strong programming skills in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in data pipelines, Git, and CI/CD setups

• Familiarity with streaming and real-time data technologies such as Kafka or Spark Streaming

The following qualifications would be considered an advantage:

• Experience with and a good working knowledge of trade-offs between transactional, analytical and distributed databases

• An interest in tackling the challenges of multi-tenant database setups

• Experience and interest in working with FastAPI, ORMs and related backend frameworks

• Tuning databases and data pipelines to efficiently cater to production-grade analytics-focused web applications
