Data Privacy & Ethics Expert: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid)

The Data Privacy & Ethics Expert will join a team focused on delivering essential services related to data privacy, ethics, and governance. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and supporting the organization's adherence to data governance, quality, and regulatory frameworks. The expert will work within multiple streams, including Enterprise Data Modelling, Data Regulatory Affairs, Data Governance Tools, Data Quality, and Data Privacy & Ethics.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver data privacy and ethics (DPE) services, including risk assessments (DPIA) for various projects, outsourcing, and existing solutions.
Produce detailed and concise risk assessment reports according to organizational standards.
Propose or validate risk mitigation measures.
Provide advisory and consultancy services on data privacy and ethics to the organization.
Support in managing data subject rights requests and personal data breaches.
Develop and deliver training, awareness programs, and communication on DPE topics.
Support data governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with data policies, standards, and regulations across the organization.
Act as an escalation point for governance, data quality, integrity, and compliance issues.
Collaborate with business and functional leaders to enhance data quality and core asset value.
Provide support for AI regulation-related requests in the context of data privacy and ethics.

Additional Duties:
Work within the operational team to communicate DPE requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Create and maintain process documentation, tooling, templates, and training materials for expert and non-expert audiences in the areas of DPE, Data Governance, and A&AI processes.
Understand business, security, and regulatory drivers and priorities.
Handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and discretion.
Experience:

Technical Experience:
Mandatory: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferable: Experience with process definition (ARIS), Archer eGRC tool, Rally (Agile), and SharePoint.
Business Experience:

Mandatory:
Risk assessment/management experience (compliance or audit background is an asset).
In-depth knowledge of data protection and privacy principles (GDPR).
Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Preferable:
Experience in cross-functional teams and departments.
Experience in business/functional analysis in an enterprise environment.
Change management experience.
Experience in the banking and finance industry, preferably with BNP Paribas Fortis.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Law, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with substantial analytics knowledge are encouraged to apply.
Certification: Data Protection Officer (GDPR) certification is an asset.
Languages:

Dutch: Native or Fluent
French: Native or Fluent
English: Fluent
(The candidate must be able to write and conduct meetings in French or Dutch, and English.)
