Summary

Havenside is seeking a Finance Director/ Data Scientist to oversee accounting and financial reporting functions. Areas of focus include long and short-term budgeting, job costing, and cash flow management, operational performance metrics and reporting, and analytical support for senior management. This position is a hands-on leadership role that will work cross-functionally within the organization. The ideal candidate has experience in the construction industry and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This leader is responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements; addresses a multitude of accounting activities; and manages and supervises the Finance team to ensure appropriate resource allocation. The ideal candidate must have excellent analytical skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Establish mechanisms to ensure financial accuracy, compliance and timeliness with accounting standards.
• Build, iterate, and automate financial and operational reporting to support monthly and quarterly business reviews.
• Construct financial forecasting models based on past performance and expected impact of future business initiatives.
• Manage job level P&L. Conduct variance analysis to generate insights and identify drivers of business performance.
• Identify and assist with automation opportunities to drive greater efficiencies across the portfolio company
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management
• Maintain and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports and job costing
• Partner with project managers to monitor project budgets, billing, and cost variances
• Assist with audit requests/support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
• 5+ years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Programming experience – 3 years
• Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting practices
• Proficiency in accounting/ERP software (experience with Sage, SalesForce, BILL.com)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to communicate complex and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members

Preferred

• MBA in machine learning, advanced data modeling

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
