Role Summary

Specializes in applying knowledge of experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, probability theory, and machine learning, using code for tool building, statistical analysis and modeling, using both general purpose software and statistical languages.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Data Science Research: Conduct research to combat spam, scam, and fraud in mobile telecommunication protocols.
Global Support: Assist mobile network operators worldwide in identifying, monetizing, and preventing spam and fraud.
Big Data Analysis: Analyze large volumes of Voice/SMS/MMS traffic.
Data Processing: Clean and preprocess data, perform exploratory and statistical analysis.
Machine Learning: Apply machine learning, data mining, and text mining techniques.
Visualization: Create visualizations and presentations of data findings.
Fraud Detection: Uncover activities of organized spammers and fraudsters, research new fraud techniques, and design detection algorithms.
Virus/Malware Prevention: Monitor and prevent virus and malware distribution vectors.

Customer Interaction: Present results to customers and lead discussions on managing fraud attacks

Job Requirements

Core Competencies

Data Analysis Expertise

Statistical Analysis: Proficiency in statistical tools like R-studio and Python.
Big Data Handling: Experience with big data tools such as Spark, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, and Kafka.
Machine Learning: Knowledge of machine learning libraries like NumPy, SciPy, and MLlib.
Data Mining: Ability to perform data mining and text mining in multiple languages.

Technical Skills

Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., R, bash, Python, Perl, Lua).
Linux OS: Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
Visualization Tools: Skilled in data visualization and presentation.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about data.
Exploratory Analysis: Ability to clean, preprocess, and explore data to uncover insights.
Fraud Detection: Experience in researching fraud techniques and designing detection algorithms.

Communication Skills

English Proficiency: Working proficiency in English for both written and verbal communication.

Customer Interaction: Ability to present results to customers and lead discussions on managing fraud attacks
