Day Services Team Lead - CCoI
Camphill Communities of Ireland are seeking a Day Services Team Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge.
The day services team lead is a full-time post. To fill this post, the successful candidate will need strong leadership skills and experience as exemplified through past professional experiences. You will require a sound understanding of the guidance set forward in the New Directions guidance from the HSE.
The Core function of the role will be to enable people supported to live meaningful lives within their community, a central aspect of which will be supporting each person to discover their personal gifts, assets and strength, and to explore how these build into meaningful personal vision with ambitious goals and appropriate supports to pursue the same.
A key element of the support will be working with people to develop a network of supportive relationships which connect with and support their personal vison and its goals. This network may include personal (family, friends) community social networks, formal learning and personal development providers in the wider community, job support for work and career development.
Linked to this will be the particular offer of CCoI through its local day opportunities hubs, the social community aspects of Camphill through network of gatherings and festivities which mark the year, and the particular work and enterprise opportunities associated with the craft and land-based opportunities and social enterprises.
This job description describes the roles and responsibilities as currently envisaged. These may change over time in the light of changing circumstances or developments within the national disability sector programme.
Key Responsibilities
The Day Services Team Lead will:
The Team Lead role involves taking leadership and responsibility for programme offerings in line with day attendees’ goals and preferences with revision on a quarterly basis and communicated to all day attendees and staff through an individual timetable.- The role is also a key lead on the building of effective partnerships as a central element of support to each person (family, friends, community groups etc.) and as a core resource to the model of service we offer e.g., ETB, Area Sports Partnerships, SICAP, Teagasc, Arts council, Rural Transport / TFI, etc.
- The Team Lead should ensure working within the main legislative and policy frameworks, New Directions, Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse National Policy & Procedure, Assisted Decision-making Act, etc.
- Ensuring the needs, requirements, and choices and preferences of day attendees are facilitated through the effective use of the resources available to the service.
- Maintaining a positive working relationship with families, and other providers.
- Monitoring the health and wellbeing of each day attendee and reporting any ongoing changes internally and externally.
- Ensuring that day attendees have a “voice”, through self-advocacy, support groups etc.
- Ensuring that day attendees are supported to participate in activities of their interest in the wider local community and to create opportunities for them to try new experiences.
- Maintain and govern daily activities to fulfil health and safety requirements, infection prevention and control, and as dictated in CCoI policy and engage with the National Health, Safety & Risk Coordinator on day-to-day documentation, concerns and incidents as they occur.
- Coordinate and communicate directly with the Person in Charge/ National Day Services Lead on a weekly basis, at a minimum, to ensure that day-to-day operations, programmes and incidents are documented and expressed.
- Programme facilitate at a minimum two programmes weekly to day service attendees.
- Provide key worker support to at a minimum three-day attendees to aid the day attendee set, progress and attain goals meaningful to that individual in line with New Directions.
- Attend to the daily administrative tasks required for the smooth operation of the day service on a day-to-day basis.
- Provide daily oversight of staff activities and responsibilities and address if possible, and coordinate with the Person in Charge/ National Day Services Lead of all HR issues and concerns as they arise.
- Raise all facility and maintenance concerns to the Person in Charge/ National Day Services Lead, as needed.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the community and activities.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
A minimum of a Level 7 on the QQI Framework - BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent relevant qualification in Health or Social Care- At minimum, 3 years’ experience in programme facilitation of services in a day service or residential setting.
- Good working knowledge of the New Directions frameworks and person-centred planning process.
- Experience of regulated services for people with disabilities and ability to apply knowledge of best practice.
- The capacity to deliver in an effective and resourceful manner within a model of person-centred provision.
- Ability to create, develop and implement individual and day services plan.
- Ability to facilitate changing needs and improve service delivery. A commitment to delivering a quality person centred service.

Details of the Role:
Salary Scale: €40,061 to €49,973 Per annum (based on a 40 hour/week)
Location: Greenacres Camphill Community, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, A94 F5D8
Contract: Permanent - Fulltime, 40 hours per week
