We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner for a Licensed Daycare Facility to help maintain a clean, sanitary, and child-safe environment. This role is critical to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of children, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of hygiene in childcare settings, and follows strict cleaning and safety protocols.

Duties

• Perform weekly cleaning and sanitizing of daycare areas, including classrooms, washrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, tables, chairs, toys, and play equipment
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors using child-safe cleaning products
• Clean and sanitize washrooms, sinks, and diaper-change areas according to health guidelines
• Empty garbage and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper as required
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met throughout the facility
• Follow all health, safety, and infection-control procedures specific to childcare environments
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to supervisors

Requirements

• Previous cleaning experience in a daycare, school, healthcare, or commercial setting is preferred
• Knowledge of proper sanitizing and disinfecting procedures, especially in childcare environments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Reliable transportation is an asset

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
