The Arlington Hotel is a well-established and highly regarded venue, known for delivering excellent hospitality, quality food and beverage offerings, and a welcoming guest experience. We are currently seeking an experienced Daytime Bartender to join our professional team.

Purpose of the Role

The Daytime Bartender will play a key role in ensuring guests at The Arlington Hotel receive a consistently high standard of service. This position requires a customer-focused professional who is attentive, proactive, and committed to creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere while anticipating guest needs.

About The Role

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner at all times, including during busy or challenging periods.
• Greet and engage with guests to ensure a positive and comfortable experience, assessing needs and making appropriate food and beverage recommendations.
• Proactively check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities to upsell where appropriate.
• Handle guest queries and complaints calmly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented bar and service area in line with hotel standards.
• Ensure the bar is fully stocked, organised, and compliant with all hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of food and beverage menus and confidently describe offerings to guests.
• Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with licensing laws and minimum age requirements.
• Work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, strong communication, and leadership qualities.
• Support and positively influence team members through cooperation and observation where appropriate.
• Attend staff meetings, briefings, and training sessions to stay informed of promotions, events, and operational updates.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including health & safety, fire safety, licensing, cash handling, and hygiene standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance in line with The Arlington Hotel dress code.
• Report maintenance issues, defects, or potential safety concerns promptly to management.
• Carry out any reasonable additional duties as required by management.
• Maintain punctuality, reliability, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

• 5–10 years’ experience in a bartending role, ideally within hotels or high-quality hospitality venues.
• Experience serving both beverages and food.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Good judgment, common sense, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• A positive attitude and strong team ethic.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation including licensing, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations.
