About the Role
Yoobee College of Creative Innovation is seeking an experienced and passionate Diploma in Cloud Engineering Tutor to join our dynamic team. If you have expertise in cloud engineering, DevOps, multi-cloud integration, and modern cloud development methodologies, this is your opportunity to inspire and shape the next generation of cloud professionals.
As a Cloud Engineering Tutor, you will play a vital role in preparing students for careers in cloud computing and IT infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality lectures, tutorials, and workshops on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Linux Administration, and Multi-Cloud Integration.
- Designing and updating industry-relevant course materials in cloud computing and DevOps.
- Mentoring students in cloud computing, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Assessing student progress through assignments, projects, and real-world cloud solutions.
- Guiding students in hands-on work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Linux.
- Incorporating DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines into learning.
- Ensuring students grasp cloud security, automation, and multi-cloud strategies.
- Collaborating with faculty and industry professionals to ensure an up-to-date curriculum.
- Keeping up with emerging cloud computing, cybersecurity, and DevOps trends.
- Contributing to faculty research, programme reviews, and curriculum development.
Please note – this is a programme delivered online across the afternoon and evening from Monday to Friday, work hours will be from 1PM to 9:30PM. This role is an online teaching role and therefore fully-remote, however we are only considering candidates based in Auckland.
About You
You are an experienced cloud professional with a strong technical foundation and a passion for education. You will have expertise in:
- AWS, Microsoft Azure, Linux Administration, and Multi-Cloud Integration.
- DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Cloud security, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
- Linux system administration and networking fundamentals.
- Agile methodologies, including Scrum, for cloud project management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor students effectively.
What You’ll Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Industry certifications in AWS (Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps, or Cloud Practitioner) or Microsoft Azure (AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305) are highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, and multi-cloud strategies.
- Teaching or training experience in an academic or professional setting (highly desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- A deep respect for cultural practices, tikanga, kawa, and te reo Māori.
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
