Job Description – Dean (Academics & Research Innovation)

Location: Greater Noida
Experience Required: 15–20 years (with at least 8 years as Professor in a Tier 1 University)

Position Overview

The Dean – Academics & Research Innovation will be a visionary academic leader responsible for positioning the University as a center of excellence in research, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning. The role will focus on advancing global research collaborations, integrating cutting-edge technologies into pedagogy, and building an ecosystem that nurtures critical thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Innovation Leadership

• Establish and lead centers of excellence in frontier areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Sustainable Technologies, Life Sciences, and Emerging Engineering Disciplines.
• Drive the University’s research agenda, ensuring high-impact publications, patents, and technology transfers.
• Promote interdisciplinary research that addresses real-world challenges and contributes to national and global development goals.
• Secure external funding for research through government, industry, and international grants.
• Encourage innovation, incubation, and start-up culture by setting up innovation hubs, entrepreneurship cells, and industry collaboration labs.

Academic Excellence & Global Standards

• Design and implement future-ready curricula aligned with global academic standards and industry needs.
• Integrate AI-driven, digital, and experiential learning models to enhance student learning outcomes.
• Drive the adoption of innovative pedagogy, including project-based learning, collaborative research, and global exposure programs.
• Benchmark academic programs with top international universities to ensure global competitiveness.

Faculty Development & Mentorship

• Attract and retain world-class faculty with strong research backgrounds.
• Mentor faculty to publish in top-tier journals (SCI/Scopus/ABDC ranked) and file patents.
• Build collaborative networks with leading global researchers, universities, and think tanks.
• Encourage faculty participation in international conferences, visiting fellowships, and joint research projects.

Student-Centric Innovation Ecosystem

• Foster a research-oriented culture among students through undergraduate research opportunities, hackathons, and innovation challenges.
• Integrate entrepreneurship modules, design thinking, and incubation support into academic programs.
• Facilitate global student exchange, dual degree programs, and internships with top institutions and corporates.
• Nurture student-led startups and guide them towards successful commercialization.

Institutional Leadership & Outreach

• Spearhead strategic partnerships with global universities, industries, and government bodies for collaborative research and innovation.
• Drive national and international rankings, accreditations, and recognitions for the University.
• Represent the University at global academic forums, policy-making bodies, and innovation platforms.
• Contribute to positioning the institution as a thought leader in higher education and research innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a reputed Tier 1 University (India or abroad).
• 15–20 years of distinguished academic experience, including 7+ years as a Professor in a Tier 1 University.
• Proven track record of high-impact research, publications, patents, and funded projects.
• Experience in leading research centers, academic innovation programs, or interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Strong industry-academia engagement experience and global academic collaborations.
