We’re now seeking a Deli Assistant to join our friendly team — someone who shares our love for great food, great coffee, and great people.

About the Role

As a Deli Assistant at Esquires Coffee House, you’ll play an important role in preparing and serving fresh food, maintaining high standards of presentation, and ensuring every customer leaves with a smile. You’ll also support our barista team and help keep the deli running smoothly throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare, present, and serve a range of fresh deli items, sandwiches, and light meals.

· Educate customers on our food and drink menus, including daily specials.

· Provide excellent customer service and build friendly connections with customers.

· Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked deli and service area.

· Operate kitchen and deli equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.

· Follow all HACCP, food safety, and health & safety standards.

· Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and waste management.

· Share feedback and ideas to help improve our menu and service.

· Work collaboratively with your team to deliver the Esquires experience every time.

Requirements

· Minimum 1 year of experience in hospitality, retail, or a busy deli environment.

· Barista qualification and/or deli experience is essential.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proven ability to engage and connect with customers.

· Proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.

· Team player with a positive and professional approach.

· Good knowledge of deli operations and food hygiene practices.
