Dumouchel Meat & Deli is a family-owned butcher shop with a commitment to high-quality products and exceptional customer service. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team.

Job Description:

As a Customer Service Representative at Dumouchel Meat & Deli, you will be the face of our shop, ensuring every customer has a great experience. Your role will be a blend of customer service, administrative tasks, and deli operations.

Key Responsibilities:Customer Service:

• Serve customers promptly as they enter the store
• Answer phone calls and assist customers with inquiries
• Process transactions at the cash register
• Check and respond to emails on iPad
• Check and return messages on the answering machine
• Take and prepare customer orders (filling out order forms)

Deli Operations:

• Slice deli meats and portion cheese
• Portion and package deli salads and sausages
• Prepare and package sandwiches
• Slice peameal, back bacon, and smoked bacon

Cooked Product Handling:

• Check cooking temperatures for roasted products
• Prepare a list of products needed for the next business day
• Package roast chickens and transfer roasts for slicing

Stocking & Replenishment:

• Ensure products are priced correctly
• Stock shelves and replenish deli meats in the counter display

Administrative Tasks:

• Ensure order sheets are printed and available
• Print and stock family pack order sheets

Closing Duties:

• Sweep and mop the front floor
• Clean and wipe down counters, including the meat and deli counter
• Clean slicer and slicer counter

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience in retail or food service is an asset but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of cash handling and processing transactions
• Ability to handle food safely and maintain a clean work area

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50-$18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Additional pay:

• Overtime pay

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Customer service: 1 year (required)

Language:

• English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Food Handler Certification (preferred)
