Main Purpose of the Job:
To provide exceptional customer service by prioritising customer care, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety in the Kitchen and Delicatessen departments, and ensuring efficient stock rotation and merchandising. The role also involves assisting customers with product knowledge and recommendations, and processing requests in a friendly, fast, and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent customer service by prioritising customer needs at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Meet agreed sales and margin targets through effective product promotion and customer engagement.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and wear the full company uniform at all times.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge to assist customers with confidence.
- Efficiently manage stock, ensuring proper rotation and availability.
- Prepare and present food items for sale in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Create and maintain effective and attractive displays to promote product sales.
- Ensure product quality, accuracy of pricing, and proper labelling.
- Comply with all Health & Safety and HACCP regulations relevant to the role, and promptly report any breaches to management.
- Actively live and promote the brand’s values, encouraging a positive team environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management or supervisors.
Hygiene & Food Safety:
- Complete all cleaning tasks to the highest hygiene standards.
- Clean kitchen utensils, including pots and pans, thoroughly and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of all work surfaces, floors, and walls.
- Correctly unload and store equipment and packaging deliveries.
- Follow all HACCP procedures when handling and preparing food.
Skills & Attributes Required:
- Clear and concise communication skills, with a good level of spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to operational needs.
- Strong team player with a collaborative attitude.
- Ability to take and follow instructions from supervisors effectively.
Delicatessen Department Duties:
- Merchandise and rotate stock to ensure freshness and presentation.
- Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable service, assisting customers with sales and recommendations.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From €13.50 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Dublin, Clontarf, CO. Dublin: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Food preparation: 1 year (preferred)
Work authorisation:
- Ireland (preferred)
