We are now looking for Demand Planner & Analyst to join our Business Area Containerboard Master Planning Organization. In this position, you will report to Head of Master Planning, BA Containerboard. Location can be in Helsinki head office, or one of the Stora Enso mill locations in Finland or in Poland.

You will be responsible for Demand Planning & Analytics within BA Containerboard Master Planning organization. The Demand Planner & Analyst plays a central role in ensuring reliable demand forecasting, data driven insights, and effective alignment between commercial and supply chain functions. Operating in a complex Packaging & Paper environment with multiple mills and customer segments, this role is responsible for building an accurate demand picture, analyzing trends, and supporting operational planning to optimize service levels, inventory, and production stability. This role blends operational forecasting with analytical insight.
Your main responsibilities include:
Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Develop short-, medium-, and long‑term demand forecasts
- Maintain and adjust the demand plan
- Support the monthly S&OP demand review process.
Data Analysis & Strategic Scenario Insights
- Analyze historical demand, customer and market data, and segmentation to identify demand drivers and improve forecast accuracy.
- Build dashboards and KPI reports, monitor forecast performance, and investigate deviations and root causes.
- Model demand under different business scenarios and assess the impact of commercial initiatives to support strategic decisions.
Inventory & Supply Alignment
- Partner with Master Planners to balance demand and supply, identify potential stock risks, and support scenario planning.
Cross ‑ Functional Collaboration
- Act as the key link between commercial teams and operations.
- Combine and communicate market intelligence and forecast updates.
Process & System Ownership
- You are the key user of the demand planning tool in the Business area.
- Maintain and improve demand planning tools, forecasting systems and data quality.
Performance Management
- Track forecast accuracy and demand-related KPIs
What we are looking for
You will be working in tight cooperation with the Sales, Master Planning, and Controlling colleagues in the Sales & Operations Planning and Execution Processes. Great analytical skills and attention to detail play a big part in your success as you are responsible of the quality and accuracy of the Demand Plan. However, it’s clear communication and good collaboration skills that are essential as you interact with several stakeholders – you should have the courage to challenge your colleagues when needed, in a constructive way. Your natural mindset strives for continuous improvement, and you will also participate in development of the tools, reporting, statistical forecasting, and the demand planning ways of working. Ideally you have interest in data structures and demand planning tool ownership as you will have a possibility to contribute to tool and process development projects in Master Planning and with stakeholder organizations.
You bring:
- A university degree in a relevant field
- Analytical, agile and a transparent approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Your natural mindset strives for continuous improvement
- Fluency in English; working knowledge of one of the languages is considered an advantage: Finnish, Polish, German
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, BI tools (e.g., Power BI), and forecasting platforms
- Experience in roles in sales, supply chain or demand planning are considered as an advantage
- Experience in tools for demand planning (e.g., OMP) considered as an advantage
