Department Loan Assistant - Consumer Banking

Overview: Provide basic to broad level of customer support for the department. Support the Consumer Loan Banker(s) with the loan application process, including the collection of data, the closing, and the post-closing processes. As appropriate, assist the residential banking department.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

· Assist department with process improvements and enhancements for the loan department, as appropriate.

· Assist in delivering the CNB brand by troubleshooting, and providing consistent, timely responses whenever a customer needs assistance.

· Provide administrative assistance to the Lender(s) and staff as needed.

· Input and upload documents into Sageworks, the loan operating system (LOS), and after approval, print loan documentation for review and the closing.

· Pre-closing process - review closing documents prior to providing a copy to the loan officer(s) for final review.

· Follow up with the various borrower’s insurance companies for insurance certificates listing them with proper liens and obtaining other information when needed.

· Provide support for processing insurance claims on consumer loans.

· Be the first contact (internal and external calls/emails) for all consumer loan questions, including but not limited to escrows, automatic debit forms, expired insurance, past dues, and paid note discharges

· Assist loan officer(s) with clearing loan exceptions.

· Comply with all laws, regulations, bank policies and procedures, including specifically Citizens National Bank’s Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Policy and procedures, and its Customer Identification Program.

· Maintain regular consistent attendance, personal appearance, punctuality, and adherence to applicable health and safety procedures.

· Establish and maintain efficient working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the customers.

· Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

· Detail and action oriented

· Ability to use various Microsoft Office programs (excel, word), PC Lender (residential banking platform), NuPoint (CSI), and Sageworks (consumer loan platform)

· Ability to use Adobe e-sign on loan closing documents.

· Ability to work as a team in all aspects of the position

· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

· Ability to solve problems, provide solutions, proactively

· Customer focused, both internal and external

· Travel to branch offices as necessary using personal vehicle

Education and Experience Required:

· Associates degree preferred or equivalent years of experience

· Two years’ job experience with depository and/or lending products

· Knowledge of bank and/or retail banking operations.
