Job Summary:
The Deputy Director of the Senior Center is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in the overall management and operation of the facility. This role includes overseeing staff, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing programs and services that meet the needs of the community we serve. The Deputy Director will work closely with the Executive Director to implement the center's strategic goals and objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Deputy Director reports to the Executive Director. The Deputy Director assists the Executive Director in managing DSI employees and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the senior center, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
- Manage facility maintenance and coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed.
Staff Supervision:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations.
- Manage the Facility Manager, Programs Manager, and Center Managers.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure staff compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Program Development:
- Collaborate with the staff and Executive Director to design, implement, and evaluate programs and activities that promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of senior citizens.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance program offerings.
- Monitor program participation and make adjustments based on feedback and needs assessments.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the center complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for regulatory agencies as required.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting senior centers.
Community Relations:
- Promote the center's services and programs.
- Represent the center at community events and meetings.
Strategic Planning:
- Assist the Executive Director in developing and implementing the center's strategic plan.
- Identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Contribute to the long-term vision and sustainability of the center.
8. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with staff and members to ensure coordinated efforts and support.
- Oversee, attend, and contribute to team meetings and planning sessions.
- Communicate regularly with participants, staff, and community members to keep them informed and engaged.
- Support the center's mission and goals through active participation and collaboration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
