Join icon fashion house Aje as Designer - Aje Athletica & Aje Studio at our Aje Head Office in Redfern.
The role of the Designer is to support the Head of Design throughout the development process in accurately executing the designs and ensuring we deliver beautiful, innovative, fashion forward, sustainable, and technically advanced collections.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with the Head of Design in the implementation and development of their designs to the quality standard of Aje Collective.
Creative contribution in line with the seasonal Creative Brief, and as directed by the Head of Design. This includes concept development, hand sketches and design development in the form of hardware and trims.
Maintaining and streamlining details and finishes in alignment with the Aje handwriting.
Creating and managing Tech Packs and CADs seasonally, ensuring all information is correctly updated throughout development and for final production handover.
Creating detailed SPECS for technical developments including print placement, pleating, embroideries etc.
Active involvement in the handover of styles to the garment tech team for initial SPECS.
Support the Product Team and the Designers in the lead up to Ranging, ensuring all garments are accurately presented.
Actively involved in proto fittings from suppliers and ensuring all updates and changes are communicated to the team and suppliers.
Following development for fabric and trims through to production for each season.
Daily liaison with offshore suppliers on all queries regarding development and approvals and assisting in problem-solving as issues arise.

REQUIRED AND DESIRED SKILLS

3 years of previous experience in a similar role, preferably at an equivalent type of designer brand.
Refined design eye and a strong hand sketching ability
Experience with fitting commercial styles both with guidance and independently.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Impeccable follow-up, attention to detail, and organisation skills
Highly Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Experience and extensive understanding of creating CADs, SPECS and Tech Packs
Strong technical knowledge of garment construction.
Technical knowledge and experience in artwork design and development for embroideries, fabric developments, trims, prints and placements.
Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
A proven track record working with offshore vendors and technical management of suppliers
Ability to manage competing priorities and timelines and ensure priorities are met and managed based on the importance of timeframe and critical path
