Aurora Ducks Swimming is pleased to announce an exciting professional coaching opportunity for a Development Coach within our organization. Hours will include evenings, mornings and weekends, daily administrative responsibilities and attendance at swim meets. The successful candidate must be dedicated to building an exciting and inclusive culture for athletes of all ages and skill levels. We are looking for an individual who is knowledgeable, passionate, driven, innovative, collaborative, and professional.
Aurora Ducks Swimming is a not-for-profit organization with over 200 registered swimmers. With several swimmers participating at Eastern Canadian Championships and Ontario Provincial Championships. Ducks Swimmers climbed the podium at Festival, Provincial Age Group, and Eastern Canadian Championships in 2025.
Qualifications & Skills:
- NLS, CPR and Standard First Aid
- NCCP Level I, with strong interest to continue professional development opportunities
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Expert knowledge in all aspects of competitive swimming
- 2+ years of experience coaching competitive swimming
- Knowledge of TeamUnify software
- Computer literacy
- Strong Communication Skills
- Leadership Skills
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct an appropriate training program under the direction of the head coach and aligned with Swimming Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Model
- Attend swim meets and training camps
- Attend coaches’ meetings and team functions
- Administer swim meet entries on Hy-Tek Team Manager
- Assist with planning and implementation of in-house development meets
- Evaluations & recommendations for swimmer progression
- Cover coaching shifts as required
- Build positive relationships with swimmers, parents, staff and our community
