This role is Monday to Friday, flexible and weekend hours are available.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assists with repairs and preventive maintenance on Fleet Trucks/Trailers and Yard equipment
• Assists mechanics and apprentices as required
• Ensure units are prepared for on road duty. Including lube and filter, safeties and following ministry guidelines.
• Maintains shop in a clean and orderly manner to ensure a respectable and safe working environment
• Checks batteries and fluid levels in equipment and replaces or replenishes as needed
• Performs lubrication and related maintenance
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Hand or Management

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalency preferred
• Ability to utilize various hand tools, including spray gun, sander, grinder, grease gun, hydraulic jack, welding tools, etc.
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Must be comfortable using computers
• Must be comfortable standing and walking throughout the full shift
• Comfortable working in outdoor conditions when required
• Good communications abilities
• Ability to work independently and under direction
• Must be well organized and able to work with minimal supervision
• Positive team player able to work as a team or individually
• Promote Apprenticeship Programs for the qualified candidate

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

• Huntsville, ON P1H 1P3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• fleet maintenance repair: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Class G Licence (required)
