Our Marketing team is looking to hire a Digital Marketing Manager to help enhance our customer experience and build our brand through the Watson Gloves’ website and social media channels. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing & Innovation, you will bring your analytical, communication, social media, and creative skills to our highly functional team to help continue to build our strong Watson Gloves work and lifestyle brand. Digital Marketing Manager – Burnaby, BC
The Role:
As our Digital Marketing Manager , you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing our digital marketing strategies across various platforms. You’ll lead and grow a team to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, engagement, and retention through content marketing, email campaigns, social media, and paid advertising. You will work closely to ensure continued alignment with business objectives and growth targets.
YOUR core responsibilities:
Strategy Development : Assist to create and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with business goals and drive measurable growth.
Team Collaboration : Work closely with the creative, product, and sales teams to ensure cohesive messaging and consistent branding across all digital channels.
Team Management: Lead, manage, and mentor the Digital Marketing Assistant on the team; providing guidance, support, and feedback on campaign execution, social media strategy, and day-to-day marketing activities. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment, ensuring that marketing objectives are met efficiently.
Brand Standards : Uphold and reinforce Watson Gloves Brand standards across all digital marketing initiatives, ensuring consistency in messaging, visual identity, and tone across digital platforms, website, social media, email campaigns, and SEM.
Project Management & Marketing Calendar : Plan content for posts, maintain and track the digital marketing calendar using Monday.com to ensure campaigns are executed on time. Coordinate efforts between marketing and product teams to stay organized and meet deadlines.
Campaign Management : Oversee the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including social media, search engine marketing (SEM) and email marketing.
Analytics & Reporting : Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hootsuite, social media insights, etc.). Use data to optimize campaigns and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Social Media Management : Work closely with the Digital Marketing Assistant to grow and manage Watson Gloves’ social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram). Develop and execute content creation strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and audience growth across platforms. This also includes continuing to build upon a social influencer program.
Content Optimization : Lead efforts to improve organic search rankings and website traffic. Optimize existing content and develop new content to support digital marketing initiatives, such as blogs and landing pages.
Paid Media : Manage paid media budgets, create compelling ad copy, and optimize campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.
Email Marketing : Lead email marketing efforts, promote new products and seasonal programs. Manage email campaigns from conception to execution and analyze performance using Click Dimensions.
Copywriting : Write compelling and persuasive copy for websites, blogs, email campaigns, social media posts, paid ads, enriched product descriptions, and other digital content to ensure consistent
brand messaging.Amazon Marketplace: Oversee and optimize Amazon product listings FBA and FBM, create and maintain ASIN’S on Amazon.ca, Amazon.com, compelling product descriptions, manage Amazon PPC campaigns, and monitor performance to drive sales on the platform. Also manage Watson online preferred vendor program (PriceSpider).
Product Website Database Management: Responsible for maintaining data with Digital Marketing Assistant and pulling data for customers PIM systems as requested. Use PHPMyAdmin control panel to manage and manipulate MySQL database assets as needed.
Website Management : Oversee the front-end maintenance and updates of the company website, ensuring it’s user-friendly, visually appealing and on brand, and fully optimized.
Work with the design team to implement regular updates to graphics and improvements.Onboarding New Web Developer : Manage the onboarding of a new Web Developer (contract base – external resource) to support the back-end development of the website. Provide guidance on project priorities, ensure alignment with marketing goals, and collaborate with IT team if needed - who manage the improvements such as website server/host, security, and technical performance.
Talent Brand & Work Culture : Work with the HR team to create and manage Talent Brand blogs and posts that celebrate and showcase the Watson Work Culture. Highlight employee stories, team achievements, company values, and workplace initiatives to reinforce the brand's image.
Stay Current : Keep up to date with the latest trends in digital marketing, tools, and technologies to continually refine and improve strategies.
What YOU BRING to Watson Gloves:
5+ years work experience in a marketing, social or digital related role (agency or brand)
Diploma or degree in Marketing or communications or Certificate in Digital Marketing or an equivalent combination of school and experience
Intermediate skillset in Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro)
Demonstrated proficiency in all social media channels
General understanding of Web coding – website management, HTML and Wordpress
Well versed in marketing automation and strong understanding of SEO and SEM
Analytical Skills – ability to interpret & report on campaign results
Proven expertise in front-end website maintenance (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with SQL, CSS and PHP for managing and querying product databases to optimize marketing efforts.
Experience onboarding, managing and working with web technical development teams and/or managing the technical aspects of a website, including back-end coding.
Strong copywriting abilities for creating web content, digital ads, email campaigns, and enriched product descriptions.
Proficiency with marketing and analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Ads, Amazon Seller Central, and Click Dimensions is a bonus (similar to mail chimp)
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects.
Great written and verbal communication
Click Dimensions and Microsoft Dynamics experience is an asset
Proficient in project management tools like Monday.com is an asset.
