We are looking to hire a hands on Dining Director to lead our program for our location in Lawton, Michigan
The Director of Dining Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Food Service Department in order to maintain the highest quality of food product and service to all residents.
In this smaller, hands on kitchen the Director will regularly be cooking as well as guiding the department operations toward success
This individual will have the opportunity to create dining experiences with varied venues and menus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of food by cooks and other personnel
- Regularly assist with meal service and act as a working manager within the kitchen
- Responsible for purchasing all food and non-food items.
- Assist with marketing events
- Maintains food and cost on a daily basis and is responsible to ensure budgetary compliance.
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment and the achievement of safe working practices.
- Visit with residents at each meal when available and ensure remarkable service.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, local health department regulations and residence policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and food preparation experience in a related field.
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in food service operation and management.
- Obtain and hold local and state required food handling/supervision/sanitation licenses and certifications.
- Understanding of OSHA standards and fire & safety procedures.
- Experience working in a senior living community
- Supervisory or management experience
- Knowledge of nutritional requirements for older adults
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Safety and fire codes
- Prior experience with menu planning, food purchasing, and table service
