Direct Support Professional

Pertinent information- We are currently looking for individuals for our residential program. In this instance we are looking for staff for our female only homes.

****** We are only doing in person interviews, a class 5 is required and we are only allowed to take individuals that have work permits if they are open permits. We can not take staff that have study permits at this time.

Current positions range from 54 to 64 hours biweekly. Starting wage is $18.00 an hour which increases to $19.00 an hour after 1 year.

Please be aware that we are not located in Winnipeg as we are approximately 40min from Beausejour and there is no public transportation available. A Manitoba drivers license and reliable vehicle is required.

Duties:

- Provide direct care and support to individuals in a residential or community setting
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Monitor and report changes in individuals' physical and emotional well-being
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals

Experience:

- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, patient care, assisted living, home care, dementia care, hospice care, or similar areas is a plus
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
