Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in both home and community settings. Your primary focus will be to enhance the quality of life for those you assist by promoting independence and facilitating daily living activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote community involvement.
- Assist with heavy lifting as needed for mobility or transfers.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in group home or assisted living settings.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health status.
- Uphold the dignity and respect of each individual while fostering a supportive atmosphere.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with home community care practices is a plus.
- Previous experience in a group home or assisted living environment is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist individuals with mobility needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A caring attitude and commitment to providing high-quality support.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
