Directional Drill Operator/Rf Technician

Horizontal Directional Drilling Laborer Job/mini operator

This individual will works with the HDD team to install conduit and cable underground using horizontal directional drilling equipment and locating devices. This position will also assist the HDD team with daylighting, pull cable and install hand holes, pedestals and ROW signs.

Responsibilities:

  • All phases of underground construction include but are not limited to: Loading, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment
  • Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools
  • Responsible for locating the drill head during drilling operations
  • Installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling
  • Operate and work around heavy equipment and machinery to include assisting the driller with operation of the drill
  • Install hand holes, flower pots and other ISP devices
  • Perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor
  • Assist other crew members in daily tasks
  • Work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service and efficiency in daily operations.
  • Listens and communicates effectively with managers, and peers
  • Loading materials and equipment to various job site locations.
  • Assisting in job site setup and take down
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Lift, place materials, stand, walk, turn, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, crouch, speak and hear continuously
  • Lift up to 100lbs
  • Work indoors, outdoors and underground in various weather conditions
  • Wear safety equipment: as per requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.
  • Be safety and customer-focused, without exception

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid and appropriate provincial driver’s license prior to employment G class is a minimum unless G2 is almost at the end of its term and you can go and get your G in the very near future.
  • Employee must follow company policies and procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
