Job Description
YOU MUST BE A CURRENT EMPLOYEE OF THE ADMINISTRATION FOR CHILDEN’S SERVICES TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
THESE POSITIONS ARE ONLY OPEN TO CANDIDATES WHO ARE PERMANENT (NOT PROVISIONAL) IN THE CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OF ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES.
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.
Within ACS, the Division of Preventive Services (DPS) is a beacon of support to families by connecting them to community-based resources. The division works to provide resources that maintain the safety and well-being of families. DPS provides guidance and resources to our contracted providers that strengthen their ability to assess and address the service needs of families.
The Resource Team Director plays a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of families in need of concrete resources while being supported by prevention providers. This position supports the Division of Prevention Services by strategically providing essential leadership to the team’s operations, overseeing the review and distribution of requests, coordinating provider support, and ensuring seamless service delivery to children and families. This leadership role is crucial in maintaining efficiency, responsiveness, and alignment with ACS’s mission to promote child and family well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of four to five staff. Responsible for modeling and training staff on all systems and logs.
- Manage staff development through internal and external trainings
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and preventive partners to gather and analyze information impacting policy and practice.
- Monitor DPS One Stop System to ensure timely and equitable assignment to team members.
- Maintain The Resource Team Log containing all DPS One-Stop Request
- Provide month data of team activity, to include areas of systems and practice improvement.
- Ensure timely support and feedback to all inquiries by preventive partners.
- Identify program improvement sustaining ACS Policies, procedures, and best practices to support cross divisional work and provide services to children and families.
- Monitor macro level trends, conduct analysis and propose needed systemic changes to improve service delivery.
- Ensure information conveyed at meetings is clear, accurate and complete.
- Presentations at meetings and/or in the community are professional, courteous and facilitate objectives of the meeting.
- Reports to supervisor are clear, concise, accurate and complete and submitted within prescribed times. Written Documentation is clear and accurate, and supported by data, when relevant.
- Preform various managerial administrative duties, which include but are not limited to, completing performance appraisals to increase employee performance, maintaining employees work schedules.
- Oversee, approve, and manage employees time and leave.
- Reports are submitted for review and feedback by supervisor prior to deadline.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and the one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in "1" above.
