We are looking for a Director, Business Control for UPM Fibres Finland Operations in Fibres Business Area in Helsinki, Finland. In this role, you will lead Business Control teams across Pulp, Forest and Timber, supporting performance, business steering and strategic decision-making in a dynamic operating environment.

What you’ll do

• Lead and continuously develop the Business Control teams across UPM Fibres Finland Operations, covering Pulp, Forest and Timber

• Be a member of UPM Fibres Finland Operations management team

• Provide forward-looking financial insight to support business steering, performance improvement and strategic decision-making

• Lead performance monitoring, financial forecasting, budgeting and target-setting processes across the business area

• Play a key role in business strategy work, including target setting, KPI follow-up and evaluation of strategic alternatives

• Provide strong financial leadership, structure and analytical insight to support the business in a changing environment

• Drive the development and renewal of business control processes, ways of working and related tools

• Collaborate closely with operational units and mills as well as with finance and business stakeholders across the organization

• Ensure compliance in business operations and maintain proper internal controls together with relevant stakeholders

Who you are

• You have a university degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics or industrial management

• You have a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in finance, business control or related leadership roles

• You are a strong and engaging leader who can lead teams across a broad business scope and develop capabilities in a changing environment

• You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and can translate financial insight into business action

• You cope well with uncertainty and complexity and can bring structure, clarity and direction in demanding situations

• You have determination, drive, and you are comfortable leading through change

• You have strong analytical, communication, influencing and networking skills

• You have high integrity and the ability to work independently while collaborating widely across the organization

• You are fluent in English. Finnish skills are considered an asset

The position holder will report to VP, Business Control, UPM Fibres.
