Job Description

Danfoss Power Solutions – Controls Division is looking for a Director of Material Management to lead our EMS and Electrical Parts sourcing while driving cross-business supply chain excellence across our global Connect & Control Solutions (CCS) business.


In this key leadership role, you will head a team of Category Managers, Strategic Buyers, and global Supply Chain professionals and report directly to the Head of Procurement for Danfoss Power Solutions. You will be instrumental in building strong global supplier partnerships, aligning supply capabilities with demand, and ensuring strategies support both operational execution and long-term innovation.

Job Responsibilities

As Director of Material Management, your primary mission is to lead the sourcing and supply strategy across key technology categories within EMS and Electrical components, while ensuring that end-to-end supply chain performance supports our ambitious growth targets


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global team across procurement and supply chain, including Category Managers, Strategic Buyers, a Demand Planner, and an S&OP Manager.

  • Drive and align the sourcing strategy for EMS and Electrical categories, collaborating closely with R&D, Operations, and Business Units.

  • Oversee strategic supply activities such as capacity planning, supplier SLA management, risk mitigation, and dual sourcing initiatives.

  • Lead and coordinate cross-plant and BU-level supply chain planning, ensuring alignment across sites and business needs.

  • Represent Material Management in divisional leadership forums and translate business strategy into actionable sourcing and supply chain plans.

  • Build and develop executive-level supplier relationships focused on cost competitiveness, innovation, sustainability, and delivery reliability.

  • Monitor market and technology trends to drive proactive category and supply chain planning.

  • Lead complex global negotiations and supplier selection processes.

Background & Skills

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • A relevant Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years of experience in global strategic procurement and/or supply chain management, preferably in electronics, EMS, or high-tech manufacturing industries.

  • Proven leadership experience, including managing cross-functional and international teams.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record in supplier performance improvement and supply chain optimization.

  • Experience working in complex, global matrix organizations and engaging with senior-level stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder, and negotiation skills.

  • Full proficiency in English; Danish is an advantage

Location & Flexibility

This position can be based in either Nordborg, Denmark or Minneapolis, USA.
If located in Nordborg, a hybrid setup with 3 days per week in the office is acceptable.
