The Role & What You Will Be Doing
Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Director Medical – Norway & Denmark will make an impact:
Responsibility for development of the Medical Plan/Strategy in Norway and Denmark. Collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of information on brand strategy, clinical plan, new clinical data, new regulatory and safety information and accurate, balanced and up to date materials to use in medical to medical communications. Resource allocation to ensure appropriate resources to fulfill medical objectives and business needs. Ensure compliance of medical team with Norway and Denmark Code of Practice and relevant SOPs, regulations and guidelines Work with key external stakeholders during the life-cycle of Viatris medicines, supporting goals and bringing external insights to the organization to shape strategy and providing focused, relevant information in response to their needs Ensure that product materials and related activities reflect the most up to date regulatory labelling and risk management plans, regulatory commitments and inter-company undertakings Medical input within regulatory submissions, clinical overviews, license variations and CDS updates as required. Input into HEOR submissions, HTA dossiers, clinical guideline consultations and regional formularies as required. Support issues related to supply and distribution, product quality, benefit-risk, market actions and product withdrawals related to portfolio. Support for investigator-initiated trials to ensure that appropriate records are kept, and progress is monitored. Support media, government, and patient group activities, including policy development, corporate initiatives and issues management. Participate in local, regional, and global cross-functional project teams to ensure that ongoing improvements in processes and performance are met. Leadership and coaching of medical team if any, including setting objectives, performance management and team development. Also responsible for recruitment, development, and retention of talented colleagues. Portfolio growth and business development responsible for Norway and Denmark. Working closely with Commercial teams to assess opportunities in this space.
About Your Skills & Experience
MD or equivalent suitable scientific education (i.e. PhD, PharmD)
Solid post graduate medical experience is desirable.
Minium of 5 years of experience in global pharmaceutical industry preferably in Medical Affairs.
Proven ability to interact with KOLs and Government Officials.
Demonstrated ability to create and articulate regional/global strategies.
Knowledge of commercial and environmental aspects of innovative pharma business.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align with wide range of stakeholders, regionally and cross-functionally.
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership/management successful experience.
Demonstrated ability in design, initiation, and reporting of clinical studies as part of an integrated clinical plan.
Able to discuss scientific aspects of product development regulatory issues and also in discussing commercial issues.
Proven ability to influence and succeed through others and to form excellent relationships with key cross-functional internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated team management skills Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex data;
Business Acumen, ethics, and credible reputation with the external scientific community.
Experienced in managing projects to completion.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills including scientific writing skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated strong work ethic, and proven track record of delivering high quality within timelines.
