Director Of Azure Cloud Services

Job Summary

The Director of Azure Cloud Services is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of Azure-based cloud infrastructure and services. This position plays a critical role in driving cloud innovation, optimizing cloud performance, and ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions that align with the organization's business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Develop and execute the organization’s Azure cloud strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in Azure cloud services to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define cloud-related priorities and deliver impactful business outcomes.
• Lead the product strategy in relation to integration Azure Data Factory and AI/ML to orchestrate and gain insights from data feeds.

Cloud Architecture and Operations

• Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of robust Azure cloud architectures that meet enterprise-scale requirements.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of Azure-hosted applications and services.
• Manage end-to-end cloud operations, including resource provisioning, monitoring, and disaster recovery planning.

Security and Compliance

• Implement and maintain robust security controls to protect cloud environments and data assets.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses to mitigate potential threats.

Team Leadership and Development

• Build and lead a high-performing team of cloud engineers, architects, and operations professionals.
• Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities to foster skill growth within the team.
• Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the cloud services team.

Financial Management

• Oversee the Azure cloud services budget, including cost forecasting, optimization, and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to maximize ROI through efficient cloud resource utilization and vendor management.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored cloud solutions.
• Act as the primary point of contact for escalations related to Azure cloud services.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in cloud computing, with at least 5 years focused on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience in a leadership or management role, overseeing cloud operations and strategy.

Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge of Azure cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and automation tools.
• Proficiency in tools such as Azure DevOps, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), and Terraform.
• Deep knowledge of networking, storage, and security concepts in cloud environments.

Certifications

• Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Security Engineer Associate.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
