Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Revenue Cycle Analyst to join our finance team at a growing private behavioral and mental health facility. The Director of Revenue Management will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficiency of the revenue cycle processes, working closely with our third-party billing vendor, and holding them accountable to a high standard of excellence. This role will also involve tracking key financial metrics, monitoring KPIs. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in healthcare billing and revenue cycle management with a focus on behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Third-Party Billing Oversight: Collaborate with our third-party billing vendor to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of claims and billing operations.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular audits and quality checks of billing codes, claims, and associated processes to ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulations.
- Vendor Accountability: Hold the third-party billing vendor accountable to the highest performance standards, ensuring their processes meet the company’s needs and expectations. This includes managing negotiations and claim follow-ups.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Monitor and manage the entire revenue cycle to ensure that billing is accurate, timely, and properly documented from start to finish.
- KPI Tracking & Reporting: Work alongside the CFO to track, manage, and ensure that all company KPIs related to revenue cycle processes are accurately monitored and reported.
- Patient Copay Collection: Ensure that patient copays are being collected and properly documented, in line with company policies and patient agreements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving efficiency in billing processes and implement best practices for optimal revenue cycle management.
- Collaboration with Finance Team: Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and the timely resolution of any billing or payment discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare billing and revenue cycle management, with a strong understanding of insurance claims, billing codes, payer negotiations, and claim follow-up processes. Experience in behavioral health or mental health services is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Deep knowledge of healthcare billing practices, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and insurance claim management.
- Expertise in managing and optimizing third-party billing vendor relationships.
- Strong ability to analyze financial data and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in healthcare revenue cycle management and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with billing systems for behavioral health is a plus (Kipu, Collab MD).
- Preferred:
- Certification in Revenue Cycle Management (e.g., Certified Revenue Cycle Professional - CRCP).
- Experience working in a behavioral health or mental health facility.
Work Environment:
- Location: Flexible—open to in-office, remote, or hybrid work arrangements (ideally hybrid).
- Hours: Full-time, with flexibility depending on the needs of the business.
