Position Summary: The Director of Compliance will be responsible for mitigating risk by designing, implementing and overseeing the organization's compliance programs that encompass Medical, Legal, HR and AI/Technology functions.
Location: Houston (Texas), Scottsdale (Arizona), Seattle
Key Responsibilities:
1. Corporate Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs that meet all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Monitor changes in regulations affecting healthcare, technology, and business operations, ensuring the company remains compliant with federal, state, and local laws.
- Oversee corporate governance and ensure proper documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.
2. Medical Legal Compliance
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant guidelines.
- Lead efforts to ensure data privacy and security in all clinical operations, protecting patient information in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy laws.
- Collaborate with the medical team to develop policies ensuring clinical practices adhere to regulatory requirements.
3. Contract Compliance
- Oversee contract management to ensure all agreements, including vendor, provider, and technology contracts, align with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review, audit, and provide oversight for contract fulfillment and compliance, ensuring risk mitigation and adherence to terms.
4. HR Compliance
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with labor laws, including wage/hour laws, workplace safety, and anti-discrimination laws.
- Advise on employee-related compliance issues such as diversity, harassment prevention, and employee privacy.
5. AI and Technology Compliance
- Lead the compliance efforts for emerging technologies, especially in AI, to ensure alignment with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Implement guidelines for the ethical use of AI and other technologies, focusing on patient safety, data privacy, and fairness in decision-making.
- Monitor and assess the risks associated with the deployment of AI and ensure proper audits and safeguards are in place.
6. Compliance Audits and Reporting
- Conduct regular compliance audits across departments to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
- Prepare compliance reports for the executive team and board of directors.
- Act as the point of contact for regulatory bodies, managing communication and reporting of any compliance issues.
7. Training and Education
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for all levels of staff, ensuring awareness and understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay current with trends in compliance and technology, providing updates and recommendations to the leadership team.
8. Risk Management
- Collaborate with legal and operational teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks.
- Create a culture of compliance and ethics by developing proactive strategies to prevent non-compliance and ensure early detection.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Law, Health Administration, or a related field.
- Must have 3+ years in healthcare
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a compliance role within healthcare or technology sectors.
- Experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare laws, HR compliance, and AI regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance.
- Proven leadership in developing compliance programs in complex environments.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in compliance (e.g., CHC, CCEP) is a plus.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
