Job Summary
The Food Service Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations, ensuring high-quality food production and exceptional customer service. This role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, and developing menus that meet the needs of our diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for culinary excellence, ensuring that our food service operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Duties

  • Oversee daily food production and preparation activities to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement menus that reflect current trends while meeting dietary requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the hospitality team to provide exceptional customer service during meal service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering of supplies to ensure adequate stock.
  • Coordinate catering services for events, including banquets and special functions.
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments to support overall operational goals.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss performance, address concerns, and promote teamwork.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation within a culinary environment.
  • Strong management skills with experience in food service management or restaurant management.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Experience in shift management and kitchen operations is essential.
  • Culinary experience is preferred; banquet or catering experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with dietary department operations is advantageous.
  • Barista or coffee experience is desirable but not required.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on fostering a positive work environment. This position requires an individual who is passionate about the food industry and dedicated to providing outstanding service while managing a dynamic team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
