Senex Law is a high-volume, technology-driven eviction and collections law firm serving the multifamily housing industry. We manage high volume legal collection files for property management clients.
We are seeking a senior-level collections professional to lead and scale our legal collections department, someone who brings proven debt collection experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to implement structure, accountability, and measurable results.
Position Overview
The Director of Legal Collections is responsible for overseeing all post-judgment and pre-judgment collection activity for landlord-tenant accounts. This role manages workflow, staff performance, client reporting, compliance, and revenue outcomes.
This is a leadership position for someone who knows how to:
- Build efficient collections processes
- Manage high file volume
- Train and develop collectors
- Improve recovery rates
- Implement KPIs and dashboards
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance
You will be responsible for managing our collections department as a high-performing, scalable operation.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead, manage, and mentor collections staff and specialists
- Establish daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals
- Implement accountability systems and performance reviews
- Create training programs for new and existing staff
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and development of collections team
Operations & Workflow
- Manage a portfolio of high volume legal collection files
- Design and enforce standardized collection workflows
- Oversee payment plans, settlements, garnishments, and post-judgment remedies
- Ensure timely follow-up on:
- Judgments
- Garnishments
- Skip tracing
- Bank and wage liens
- Payment plan defaults
- Build structured processes for:
- Demand letters
- Verifications
- Disputes
- Legal escalations
Performance & KPIs
- Track and report on key metrics including:
- Recovery rates
- Dollars collected
- Payment plan success
- Call volume and productivity
- File movement by stage
- Develop dashboards and reporting for leadership and clients
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements
Client & Compliance Oversight
- Serve as primary operational contact for major clients
- Ensure compliance with:
- FDCPA
- Firm policies
- Consumer dispute requirements
- Maintain detailed documentation and audit-ready processes
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of debt collection experience (required)
- At least 2 years managing collections staff
- Experience with:
- Legal collections or agency collections
- Skip tracing
- Garnishments and post-judgment enforcement
- High-volume workflow management
- Strong knowledge of:
- FDCPA and consumer compliance
- Payment plan structures
- Settlement negotiation
- Proficiency with collections software and CRMs
- Data-driven mindset with KPI management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in:
- Law firm collections
- Landlord-tenant collections
- Multifamily housing industry
- Familiarity with:
- JST CollectMax, or similar platforms
- Google Sheets / Excel dashboards
- High-volume legal operations

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
