Position Overview
The Director of Maintenance (DOM) is responsible for ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and efficient maintenance of all company aircraft, including oversight of outsourced maintenance. This role ensures compliance with FAA regulations, internal procedures, and manufacturer guidance. The DOM oversees inspection schedules, addresses maintenance discrepancies promptly, and provides leadership and supervision to all maintenance personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure aircraft maintenance aligns with 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, and 135, along with company policies and procedures
- Supervise and manage maintenance staff, including scheduling and performance oversight
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins, and the company’s maintenance programs
- Maintain aircraft logbooks, digital records, and tracking systems
- Coordinate all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the FAA FSDO and prepare the company for audits and inspections
- Manage inventory of parts, supplies, and tools to support ongoing maintenance operations
- Uphold high standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism across the maintenance team
Qualifications
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) and Inspection Authorization (IA)
- Minimum of 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
- Experience with piston-powered aircraft; familiarity with Cessna 100/200 series preferred
- Solid understanding of 14 CFR Part 135 maintenance regulations
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Capable of working independently and managing a small, hands-on team
- Professional communication skills and a strong work ethic
